Who is David Hockney and what is Cubism?


ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS:  
Who was David Hockney and what was style in photography? What art elements and principles of design are found in Cubism and Hockney?
What subjects did Hockney select and why?
What defined the Cubist movement?
What part did  SPACE play for Hockney and for Cubism?

1. Let’s figure out who David Hockney is.  Examine his work. Look on Google Images: HOCKNEY.

6.    Your project assignment is to create a photo collage in the style of artist David Hockney, that emphasizes space.

7.       TOD:  (on Hockney/Cubism Classwork) With the following concepts in mind, think about what YOU will photograph and write about it: 
-          select a subject/person as your model.  He/She will be your center of interest.
-          Select an interesting setting.
-          You must photograph in school, but if you have a camera at home, you can create a second set of photographs to use in the final collage.  IF you do not take the required photographs in school you will not be allowed to use HOME photographs.
